My name is Marie Tambasco and I am the Fourth Grade teacher here at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School.  I was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania in the town of Hazleton.  I have two lovely daughters, both of whom were born in Pennsylvania. In 1993, in order to escape the cold and gloomy Northeastern weather, we chose to relocate to Southwestern Florida.  Both of my girls attended and graduated from St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School and Charlotte High School. This past spring, my older daughter received her RN Nursing degree and certification and is presently working at one of the local hospitals.  My youngest daughter is a recent graduate of Charlotte High School and is continuing her education at Edison College.

I began my career at St. Charles as a parent volunteer in the Pre K classroom.  Two years later, I began working as a part time teaching assistant.  This developed into a full time job which eventually led to my return to school, receiving a teaching degree and certification, and a full time teaching position.  In addition to being a classroom teacher, I also teach the lower grade Art classes and also do private tutoring afterschool.

I have a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree and also a Masters Degree in Elementary Education.  I taught Pre K for four and ½ years and Kindergarten for one year. This will be my third year teaching 4th grade.  I look forward to a wonderful 2009 - 10 school year!
